Introduction

Every day, price moves leave clues about what large players—often called “smart money”—are doing. SMC Venom Model BPR is a high-performance trading indicator built for those who follow Smart Money Concepts (SMC). By spotting Fair Value Gaps (FVG) and Balanced Price Ranges (BPR) in real time, the tool shows you where institutional traders may step in again. In this post, we look at how the indicator works, why BPR and FVG matter, and how you can add the model to your trading toolkit.

What Is SMC Venom Model BPR?

SMC Venom Model BPR is an MT4/MT5 indicator created by developer Ivan Butko, known for products like Market Noise MT4. The indicator automatically:

• Finds and marks Fair Value Gaps.
• Outlines Balanced Price Ranges.
• Filters signals by volume gaps and time of day.
• Works on any market—forex pairs, indices, metals, even crypto.

Put simply, it’s a chart overlay that calls out zones many SMC traders scan for manually. With visuals in place, you can focus on trade planning instead of constant chart marking.

Key Features at a Glance

How the Indicator Works

1. Detecting Fair Value Gaps

An FVG forms when price moves so fast that a three-bar structure leaves an untraded gap. SMC Venom Model BPR plots that gap as a shaded box.

• Green box → bullish gap (price may return and bounce).
• Red box → bearish gap (price may return and sell off).

2. Mapping Balanced Price Ranges

A BPR is a pair of equal-length price swings that often mark supply or demand zones. The indicator highlights the range and prints arrows at each edge so you see both entry and exit ideas.

3. Volume Gap Check

Once the gap or range is found, the tool measures the tick volume behind each bar. A larger volume gap can hint that big players drove the move. The rectangle stays on screen until filled or invalidated.

4. Time Filter

In inputs, you can set StartHour and EndHour. Only gaps that form in this window will show. Many traders keep it aligned with London Open (08:00 GMT) or New York Open (13:30 GMT).

Why Smart Money Concepts Matter

Smart Money Concepts center on the belief that large funds and banks leave footprints. When they fill orders, price often imbalances. By tracking these footprints—through FVGs, BPRs, order blocks—traders can:

1. Enter with better timing instead of chasing moves.
2. Define stop levels outside liquidity pools.
3. Add realistic profit targets around the next imbalance.

Benefits for Different Types of Traders

Discretionary Day Traders

• Quickly spot intraday gaps on 5-min or 15-min charts.
• Use BPR edges for tight stops.

Swing Traders

• Combine daily FVGs with 4-hour order blocks for longer holds.
• Filter trades to high-volume sessions only.

Algorithmic / EA Users

• Call the indicator buffers in your code.
• Let your own Expert Advisor handle orders once a valid gap appears.

Prop-Firm Trainees

• Many firms grade risk-to-reward. The indicator highlights zones that often offer 3:1 or better R:R.

Side-by-Side vs. Traditional Indicators

Quick Setup Guide

1. Purchase from the MQL5 Market and install.
2. Open MT4 / MT5 → Navigator → Indicators → drag SMC Venom Model BPR onto your chart.
3. Adjust input settings:
   • BullishColor: choose a soft green.
   • BearishColor: choose a soft red.
   • MaxHistoryBars: how far back to plot.
   • StartHour / EndHour: session filter.
4. Click OK and wait a few seconds. The chart will refresh with current gaps.

Tip: Save the setup as a template named “SMC_BPR_Default.tpl” so you can apply it with one click.

Tips for Getting the Most Out of It

• Combine with a higher-timeframe bias. If the daily chart is bearish, focus on bearish BPRs.
• Use the Rectangle “Fill” option set to 10–20% opacity so you still see candles inside.
• Hide lower-quality signals by raising the MinVolumeGap setting.
• Log each trade in a spreadsheet. Over 20–30 trades, review win vs. loss and adjust filters.
• Keep risk fixed (e.g., 1% per trade). The tool shows areas, not guaranteed wins.

Real-World Chart Examples

Below are sample screenshots (click to enlarge):

Explanation: Price forms a three-bar imbalance at 09:15 GMT. Price later revisits the gap, prints a pin bar, and rallies 35 pips.

Explanation: Two equal moves create a balanced range near the US session close. Price retests the upper edge and drops $12.
