Quick Overview About ArtQuant Gold EA

ArtQuant Gold EA is a professional Expert Advisor designed for MetaTrader 5 (MT5). It focuses exclusively on Gold / XAUUSD, and it includes built-in support for broker-specific symbol variations (e.g., XAUUSDm, GOLD.s, or XAUUSDpro).

Unlike many one-size-fits-all robots, ArtQuant Gold EA offers:

• A structured multi-module grid engine that can open, manage, and close trades in separate cycles.
• Clear exposure limits: maximum lots, maximum active modules, and multi-level automatic risk settings.
• Virtual trade protection: stop loss, take profit, and trailing stop orders remain hidden from the broker.
• Flexible calendar filters, Friday rules, and holiday breaks for smoother risk control.

Who Should Consider ArtQuant Gold EA?

• Traders who focus on only one instrument—Gold—and prefer not to juggle dozens of chart windows.
• Users who want a grid system but still need strict protection against runaway exposure.
• Intermediate or advanced MT5 users looking for a clean panel rather than hundreds of hidden parameters.
• People who run their terminals on a 24/7 VPS and understand the need for constant connection (because the EA’s virtual stops live inside the terminal).

Installation Checklist for ArtQuant Gold EA

Before you attach the EA, confirm the following:

• MT5 is updated to the latest build.
• The account type is hedging (netting accounts are not supported).
• Leverage is at least 1:500 (the lower your leverage, the smaller your lot size must be).
• Minimum recommended balance: $1000.
• A stable VPS or local machine that stays connected 24/7.
• Sufficient free margin to handle grid expansion.

Tip: If you run other EAs on the same account, always use a different Magic Number for each robot.

Step-by-Step Setup for ArtQuant Gold EA in MetaTrader 5

1. Open a Gold Chart
   • Right-click the Symbols window → Find XAUUSD or your broker’s gold symbol.
2. Load the EA
   • Drag “ArtQuant Gold EA.ex5” onto the chart.
   • In Common settings, tick “Allow algorithmic trading” and “Allow DLL imports.
3. Save a Preset
   • Click Inputs → Save so you can reload the same profile later.

Lot Size & Risk Modes Explained

1. Automatic Risk

Choose one of five levels: Very Low, Low, Medium, High, Very High. The EA calculates volume by factoring in:

• Balance
• Preset risk multiplier
• Current spread

Automatic mode is event-driven: when balance grows, lot size grows. When balance drops, lot size decreases, helping to level risk.

2. Fixed Lot

A static lot per order. Good for funded accounts that must keep lot sizes constant.

3. Fixed by Balance

Linear scaling: 1 mini-lot (0.10) for each specified balance step, for example:

• Fixed Lot Value: 0.10
• Balance Step: $1000

With $3000 balance, the EA trades 0.30 lots.

Drawdown, Spread & Slippage Filters

When any filter blocks a new entry, the EA prints a yellow message in the Experts tab. Existing trades remain but no fresh positions are added until conditions improve.

Using News, Friday & Holiday Filters

Keeping a grid trading over NFP or Fed days can be stressful. ArtQuant Gold EA helps by:

• USD MT5 Calendar Filter
  • Select impact level: “High” or “Medium & High.”
  • Block time: for example, 30 minutes before and 15 minutes after the event.
• Friday Filters
  • Close trades on Friday at server hour 21:00 (example setting).
  • Or block new grids on “first Friday” (usually NFP).
• Holiday Break
  • Default: December 24 to January 3.
  • You can edit dates in Inputs.

Note: Calendar filter works only in a live terminal session, not in Strategy Tester.

Backtesting for Reliable Results

1. Use Real Ticks
   • In MT5 Strategy Tester, choose Every Tick Based on Real Ticks.
2. Long Period
   • A single month looks good on any EA. Aim for at least 2–3 years.
3. Variable Spread
   • Tick “Use tick data spread” so spread fluctuates like live trading.
4. Symbol Swap & Commission
   • Make sure swap and commission settings match your real account.
5. Interpret Results Wisely
   • Grid equity curves can look smooth until a strong trend appears.
   • Compare max drawdown to your Drawdown Protection setting.
6. Ignore Calendar Filter in Tester
   • The EA turns it off automatically because the MT5 Strategy Tester does not feed live calendar events.

Live Trading Best Practices

1. Start Small on Live
   • Run one module set with Very Low risk for the first two weeks.
2. Monitor VPS Stability
   • Reboots can disrupt virtual protection. Use automatic restart scripts.
3. Keep a Trade Journal
   • Note server time, grid size, and if protection triggers. Patterns become clear after 20+ cycles.
4. Stay Updated
   • Check the official MQL5 Market product page for new builds.
5. Review Exposure Weekly
   • Even with Max Total Lots, exposure can creep up if balance grows. Adjust limits upward only after careful review.
6. Diversify Accounts
   • If you run other EAs or manual trades, use separate accounts or at least unique Magic Numbers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: Can I attach ArtQuant Gold EA to several charts?A: It trades only the symbol it is attached to. One chart is enough because timeframes are ignored.

Q2: Does the EA work with a cent account?A: Yes, if the broker offers XAUUSD on that account and the leverage/lot step is suitable.

Q3: What happens during poor VPS or internet connection?A: The virtual SL/TP logic pauses. MT5 will not close trades automatically, so always maintain a stable connection.

Q4: Can I trade manually while the EA runs?A: Manual trades are not modified by the EA, but they still share margin. Keep margin usage under control.

Final Thoughts

ArtQuant Gold EA brings a focused toolset for traders who believe Gold deserves its own dedicated system. By mixing a multi-module grid with strict exposure controls, the EA aims to balance opportunity and safety.

Yet, no automated approach removes risk entirely. Always begin with conservative settings, review your broker conditions, and never risk money you cannot afford to lose.
